The Skiing
Hokkaido is famed for having the most reliable powder skiing in the world. During the season the resorts in central Hokkaido receive around 9-10 meters of snow (more than 2018 in Val d'Isere).
The mountain is full of trees with runs cut through them, and also some of the best tree skiing in the world too. Therefore constant snow is not a problem for visibility. Furano is more central than other Hokkaido resorts and therefore does benefit from more bluebird days.
The skiing will therefore be a mixture of on and offpiste depending on the coaching format of the day and the needs of the team. The overall aim is to develop powder skiing ability amongst the group.

The Hotel
The accommodation is still to be confirmed.

Equipment
Skis: Go wide and with a huge amount of rocker. The width will help you float in the very very deep soft snow, and the rocker will make it much easier to turn when the skis are under the snow, it in deep snow in the tree runs. We recommend something 105-115 under foot. I.e. Rossignol Soul or Super 7.
I will be skiing the Super 7 (which is 116mm) in a 180cm length, I'm 5ft11 and 10st7. So don't be afraid to go wide and longer than normal.
Boots: Comfort and warmth is important. And not too soft, as we'll be skiing a large ski, the boot needs to be strong to dictate the movements.
Please ask for any further information, and a full kit list will be issued. There are good rental shops in Furano, and there will will time on the arrival day to go and source appropriate kit. Terry & RIch can help.
