The Trip

The Expedition

We are heading to the wild mountains of Georgia, a land where deep powder snow and vast open terrain await. This is not a packaged ski holiday—it’s an expedition. A small team of up to 12 skiers, guided by 4 TDCski coaches including Rich Jones and Terry James Walker, will embark on a trip of a lifetime.

Our base will be a rustic mountain lodge close to the slopes, surrounded by the dramatic peaks of the Caucasus. Here, the focus is on big lines, untouched snow, and the raw beauty of the mountains—not crowded pistes or noisy après-ski.

Rich and Terry have explored this region and found it to be one of the most exciting off-piste destinations in the world: reliable snow, true wilderness, and skiing in its purest form.

Please contact us for more information or to book your place on the trip.

The Hotel

We will be based in a welcoming 4-star hotel in Georgia, offering the perfect mix of comfort and adventure. After long days in the mountains, you can unwind in the hotel’s spa, swim in the heated pool, or simply relax in modern, spacious rooms with mountain views.

The restaurant serves exceptional Georgian and international cuisine, with hearty breakfasts, fresh local produce, and dinners that celebrate the rich flavours of the Caucasus. It’s the ideal place to recharge and share stories from the day with the group.

This balance of comfort and authenticity ensures that while the skiing is wild and adventurous, your evenings are warm, restorative, and unforgettable

The Skiing

The Ski & Snowboard Cat ski and touring

We will either resort ski, tour. or use a private ski-cat each day from the hotel, either returning for lunch or spending the whole day on the mountain. Longer days may include 1000m (3-4 hours) ascent. This is not an 'Extreme ski' trip. We will be looking for interesting but mellow terrain and good snow. The tree skiing is the highlight of this trip.

Weather permitting we will go out night skiing by the light of the moon and stars.

This trip requires a good level of fitness and a love of the mountains more than expert skill levels for steep terrain.

Equipment

Skis: Go as wide and light! We recommend something over 100mm  underfoot. The snow is deep, making a floaty ski far easier more enjoyable.

Boots: Lightweight and comfortable with pin binding inserts for the bindings. You should be happy touring in all day in them. This is negotiable based on the group goals before booking

Bindings: Some sort of Pin setup, for weight restriction. I.e. Plum Guide, Dynafit TLT Radical, Diamir Vipec, Salomon MTN.

Please ask for any further information, a full kit list will be issued. We may also be able to help with ski, snowboard, binding rental.
